Persian Tabriz

Stock No: PE-142-001443

Size(m): 0.83×0.60

This a Persian handmade rug, made from wool and it comes from Tabriz.

The rug itself is not a very large rug. It's 83 centimeters by 60 centimeters.

The colors of the rug are a beautiful combination of blues and yellows and gold. The central features of the rug are quite clearly a horse and a young very attractive woman who is with her right hand holding the horse and they're both facing us. The other aspect of the rug that's interesting is that there is a depiction of what appears to be a flower in that there is a center and petals radiating from it. Size-wise it's actually equal to the face of the horse or the woman so that also features as a focal point.

The colors in the foreground are crimson's reds and they then become gold being the color of her garments with the skirt. Her waist is held in by almost a cloth band which is crimson and knotted in the center. She has also it seems a sword that is held to her body by this drapery that is crimson in color. The front left hoof of the horse is lifted and there is a sense of expectation. She's looking longingly not at us but out towards right field if you like. There is no clarity with regard to the background. It is a combination of various shades of blue and ivories and white.

The impact of the carpet is enormous because of the beauty of the woman who has a upper shawl which is draped on her hair and also it would seem the cape that's blue in color a dark blue and then the blouse that she's wearing is a very much lighter blue. There is no indication why she has this sword. It's not drawn. It almost looks a little bit too small for a sword. It may be some sort of dagger that she's got in her clothing. We see the handle of the sword. With her left hand she's holding up the skirt that as I mentioned is yellow or golden color and we can see her feet that are not it seems she's not wearing shoes and so we can see her toes as well which is very interesting. There is a interesting feature of this rug and that is that it looks as if it is a painting and that some of the painting is aged and this is something that's been created by the weaver. It's spectacularly beautiful.

The vibrant combination of blues, yellows, and gold creates a visually stunning masterpiece. The central focus on the horse and the woman, with intricate details like the crimson garments and the enigmatic sword or dagger, adds a touch of mystery. The size, 83x60 cm, makes it a versatile and impactful decor piece, while the aged-painting effect skillfully woven into the design adds a unique charm, making it a truly spectacular addition to any setting.

Owning a painting of a horse and a woman, especially one as intricately detailed as this Persian rug, offers several compelling reasons. Firstly, the artwork serves as a unique and visually stunning piece that can become a focal point in any room, adding a touch of sophistication and cultural richness to the space. The horse symbolizes strength and elegance, while the woman adds a sense of mystery and beauty, creating a captivating narrative within the artwork.

Moreover, the vibrant colors and aged-painting effect not only contribute to the rug's aesthetic appeal but also evoke a sense of timelessness and artistic craftsmanship. The rug becomes more than just a decorative item; it becomes a conversation starter, allowing the owner to share the intriguing story behind the imagery.

The rug's unique charm would also make it a conversation piece in a study or office, adding character to the space. Ultimately, its versatile size allows for placement in smaller areas like a hallway or foyer, making a bold statement upon entry.

When choosing a rug for your living room, less is not more. Smaller rugs can make a space look smaller or cluttered in comparison to larger rugs which give the illusion of a more spacious room.
For a classic living layout, place the rug in the centre of the room and place the front legs of your sofa and armchairs on the rug. This will help create a better aesthetic and cleaner appearance.
A rug in the bedroom is all about a warm and comfortable underfoot, especially for those with hard flooring! For those wanting a larger rug for the room, we recommend a rectangular rug that sits right under the lower end of the bed and extends at least 50cm beyond the sides of the bed (depending on the size of your bedroom).
For those who don’t want a large rug but still want a warm underfoot when getting out of bed, we recommend a round or runner rug to place at either side of the bed.
Scale and proportion is key when placing a rug in your dining room. As a rule, you want your rug to be large enough to accommodate all the dining chairs, even when they are pulled out from the table. We recommend your rug be large enough to extend around 60-70cm beyond your table.
For high traffic, spill-risk areas like the dining area, we recommend a low-pile rug and easy-to-clean material like polypropylene for a rug.
