Persian Hamadan Village Rug
Stock No. ADL-232-001761
Size(m): 2.00×1.30
This exceptionally beautiful central medallion carpet hails from the Hamadan village area of Persia, now Iran, where it was meticulously handcrafted from wool. At its core lies a captivating vertical band adorned with circular motifs resembling the blades of a windmill, alternating in shades of grey and white. This band, set against a grey base color, features small whitish medallions, adding a delicate touch to its striking design. A total of eight blade-like elements grace the ends of this band, contributing to its mesmerizing symmetry.
The field of the central medallion boasts a rich burnt orange-red hue, imbued with a brash effect that adds depth and dimension through variations in color. Flanking the central band on either side are four stylized birds, gracefully poised and not in flight, while two additional birds adorn the horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the motif. These avian symbols, often associated with messages between heaven and earth, echo the carpet's mystical symbolism and profound connection to divine blessings.
The central motif is further adorned with sizable representations of the tree of life, rendered in exquisite detail and adorned with blossoms. This ancient symbol of creation serves as a powerful conduit between the divine and the created, embodying the eternal cycle of life and the bestowal of divine grace upon the earthly realm.
Intense colors, including the deep black base of the field and main guard borders, along with accents of burnt orange, splashes of yellow, and earthy tans and browns, imbue the carpet with an aura of opulence and vibrancy. Though not particularly large, its size is ample enough to command attention as a bold accent piece in any room seeking to exude magnificence, luxury, and beauty.
For a classic living layout, place the rug in the centre of the room and place the front legs of your sofa and armchairs on the rug. This will help create a better aesthetic and cleaner appearance.

For those who don’t want a large rug but still want a warm underfoot when getting out of bed, we recommend a round or runner rug to place at either side of the bed.

For high traffic, spill-risk areas like the dining area, we recommend a low-pile rug and easy-to-clean material like polypropylene for a rug.
